Retaining walls can easily become the central point of your landscape. Walls can separate beds and lawn, create raised flower beds, retain materials on hills, or basically anything imaginable! They are one of the most versatile hardscape feature, with unlimited colors and designs. Retaining walls are built to last. They outlast wood timbers and railroad ties and are economically safe. We utilize an interlocking wall system for our walls. The most important thing to remember is that for your wall to last, it has to be properly built. To ensure stability, every wall built follows these steps:
· Measurements are taken for desired wall height. A laser is used for accuracy. This gives us vital engineering information.
· Based on desired wall height, a proper base is installed using crushed stone. This is compacted with a machine and is usually NO LESS than 8” in depth.
· Each individual stone is installed by hand and leveled.
· Block are stacked. If necessary, setbacks are used for stability.
· Filter fabric is used behind the wall to make sure no dirt or stone penetrates through your wall.
· A cap is placed on top of the wall. Each piece is cut to fit and glued. This gives the smooth finish on top of your wall.
· Areas around the wall are properly backfilled according to engineering requirements.

S.O.S can also build natural stone stack walls. These walls do not interlock and are usually used for a more accent look.
We can bring samples for you to look at in person and leave with you to help make that decision. Just let us know!
